Over 800,000 Attend Victory Day Concerts
Showprize Productions Deploy MONARC MLA3 for Massive Celebration

"We had half the leaders of the world here to celebrate with us and some of the most respected artists of the continent here... not to mention nearly a million audience members... so you could say there was some pressure on us to get it right. The MLA3s did a fantastic job of covering what could only be called a massive audience, and our sonic quality was commended my many in attendance, even when heard from many hundred meters from the stage."

Thousands of soldiers and war veterans paraded across the Red Square in Moscow on Monday as leaders of 50 states joined celebrations marking the 60th anniversary of the defeat of Nazi Germany and the end of World War II. Beyond the memorial of this historic occasion, the city of Moscow was also host to a massive celebration honoring the anniversary.

Over 800,000 attended the all-day festivities which featured top performers from the region, including Oleg Gazmanov, Iosif Kobzon, Lev Leshenko, Alexandr Marshal. Staged in the heart of Moscow, the Mariinsky Theater Orchestra began the ceremonies, performing for the world's visiting dignitaries, accompanied by the Ministry of Internal Affairs Choir. After the official marking of the anniversary, people gathered for live music and celebration. Bands who performed were among Russia's most famous... Blestyashie, Korni, Fabrika, Otpyetye Moshenniki, and Chai Vdvoyom topped the bill.

Showprize Productions were selected to provide production support for the wide ranging event, and chose to deploy a heavy contingent of McCauley line array, monitor and other general staging loudspeakers. MONARC MLA3 full range cells were supported by flown MONARC MS3 subwoofers. Front of house consoles were Yamaha M3000s and Yamaha M2500, while monitors were controlled via a Allen & Heath GL4000 desk. Amplification was Lab.gruppen fp600 & fp3400 across all systems, with McCauley MCS4.8 digital system controllers providing processing. Across the massive stage, several McCauley SM72 and SM95-2 stage monitors were deployed while SA422 and SA455s flanked the performers as side fills. Audiences outside the coverage of

the mains were reached with McCauley's M.LINE compact line array. Additional McCauley CSM88 subwoofer modules were ground stacked in front of the stage to further reinforce the extended low frequency bands.

Showprize's technical director Alexy Bovin took pride in the flawless performance of his production and crew. "We had half the leaders of the world here to celebrate with us and some of the most respected artists of the continent here... not to mention nearly a million audience members... so you could say there was some pressure on us to get it right." Alexy continues. "The MLA3s did a fantastic job of covering what could only be called a massive audience, and our sonic quality was commended my many in attendance, even when heard from many hundred meters from the stage."
